I've read the article & heard the song he's referencing. This is a clear example why people with cold hearts should never comment on sentimental songs. This guy seems like he's got no class & deserves a coal in his stocking.

I don't mind "The Last Game of the Season". It's sentimental and arguably kind of sappy, but decent; I like it better after hearing the 11/29/75 AT40 in which Casey told the songwriter's (not Geddes) story behind it. It's vastly better than "Run Joey Run" (wonder if anyone's ever thought to play that when a kid named Joey rounds the bases? That would be a tastelessly bad misinterpretation of a bad song).
I admit, though, I agree with the author on "Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep."
