Topps Issues AT40 Card

Recently Topps (the sports card company) released a new series of cards based on Baby Boomer events, their themed-cards known as American Pie. Below is a link which takes you to a list of all of the cards' commemorated events and personalities since 1945.

Notice that American Top 40 is card number 105. Unfortunately, they made a mistake with the program's description on the card's back -- it references "AB40" instead of AT40. The card was likely proofread and quality-checked by someone who's never heard of Casey Kasem.

I'm surprised there's no Hurricane Katrina card in the series. They feature September 11, and Hurricane Irene. But no Katrina. Strange, seeing that Irene was not as powerful as Katrina.

AT40 is barely ahead of Sesame Street in the pack, and not too far behind The Price is Right.

If Topps is a company located in the Northeast it's not surprising. Did you see the nonstop news coverage for Irene? Remember, a lot of national and international organizations are in NYC so if anything actually affects them directly it's a HUGE deal whether it really is or not. I'm not saying Irene was a cake walk, but it's not surprising they'd remember it and not do anything for Katrina.

It appears there's some level of subjectivity here. How could they overlook the impeachment of President Bill Clinton?
