This weekend's (9/29-30/07) edition of "Casey Kasem's American Top 40: The 80s" features a rebroadcast of the program from 9/26/87. Once again a show which has just been aired on XM... I hope it doesn't start to be a routine, cause it has been few shows recently played back-to-back...

Geez, the last two shows played(last week and this week) were both also played as Flashback shows.

One question to ask to you Scott.
How do you decide which year to spotlight for the weekly flashback shows for the 70's and 80's?

Hi, I'm new to the boards! Scott, when you list the 80's rebroadcast shows, are those on XM or cities that are lucky enough to have these replayed over the air? Thanks so much!

Josh, welcome aboard!
The shows I list are the ones that are being played on "terrestrial" (ie, over the air) radio. The XM ones I believe are listed on xmradio.com.

NO I AM SICK OF 1980 AND 1981. What?!? And miss out on the hits by Rocky Burnette, Diesel, Terri Gibbs, and Ali Thomson? I agree. It's good to hear some of the end-of-the-Casey-80's every 2-4 weeks. There are nice and distinct style shifts (80-81, 82-84, 85-88). However, is it me or do the 1986 shows expose a lot of paltry hits by established artists (ie. Rolling Stones, Genesis, Billy Joel, Starship, Michael McDonald, Rod "Love Touch"Stewart)?
