High rotation: 1999, Kiss, Little Red Corvette, When Doves Cry Borderline: Raspberry Beret
Medium rotation: I Wanna Be Your Lover, I Would Die 4 U, Let's Go Crazy, Purple Rain Forgotten 45s: Delirious, Take Me With U, U Got The Look
Possible Forgotten 45s, but weaker: I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man, Pop Life, Sign O The Times
No longer in consideration: Alphabet St., Batdance, Mountains
By the way, is there a maximum number of titles an artist can have in heavy rotation ? Not if the programmer knows what they are doing. There is never a good reason to downgrade a song if it still ranks high in listener research.
Referring to my earlier answer to the question on "Let's Go Crazy", when a song is in power rotation, we will usually wait until we can determine for certain that a song's popularity has declined before we move it downward. We will sometimes take a song that is borderline (like "Raspberry Beret") and hedge our bets by moving it back and forth for a few weeks if the research shows it "wobbling" in the research.
But it would be counterproductive to set a numerical limit on how many songs an artist can have in any rotation.

Since this weekend AT40: The 80's has 11/17/1984, possible 11/17/1984 OPTIONAL EXTRA to honor Quincy Jones who died recently at the age of 91 could be:
"It's My Party" by Leslie Gore (from the AT40 1960's archives) - produced by Quincy Jones "Just Once" or "One Hundred Ways" by Quincy Jones and James Ingram (one from 1981, the other from 1981-early 1982) "Thriller" by Michael Jackson - Title track from an MJ album produced by Quincy Jones "I'll Be Good To You" by Quincy Jones with Ray Charles and Chaka Khan - from 1989

If they swap out an Optional Extra in the upcoming 1984 show for a Q tribute, I'd imagine that they'd pick a track from 'Thriller'. He's one of the few artists that you could probably swap out all 4 OEs as a tribute, given his reach throughout the decade with a variety of artists.

Let's see if Premiere plays that show next year when it will have been 40 years since that became the last instrumental to hit #1. Except for "Songbird" a couple years later, no instrumental has come even somewhat close to hitting #1 since. I don't think Premiere puts that kind of thought into scheduling the shows. Especially if it's something that wouldn't even be referenced by Larry. It's an interesting stat but not all that important unlike, say, an anniversary of the show. But it last aired in 2022 so it could still turn up next year.

The 11/17/84 optional extras are in fact:
Hour #1: "Hot For Teacher" - Van Halen (#57) Hour #2: "(Pride) In The Name Of Love" - U2 (#50) Hour #3: "Run To You" - Bryan Adams (#43) Hour #4: "Like A Virgin" - Madonna (#48; debuted) Q does get an OE in this weekend's 1979 show with "Rock With You", though that was probably chosen/approved before his passing.

Couldn't Premiere offer for a BONUS non Christmas AT40 show this weekend in memory of Quincy Jones passing away the April 13, 1985 AT40 show when Chuck Britton (of then still playing Top 40 music (and then Chicago AT40 affiliate) with some late night weekend talk show mixed in WLS AM 890 Chicago) guest hosting for Casey Kasem on that show and the Quincy Jones produced "We Are The World" by USA for Africa moving into the #1 spot?

Although he's probably one of the most successful producers of the 20th century, he doesn't have the name recognition or star power of someone like Paul McCartney or Elton John. Most Americans probably couldn't name 3 artists he produced. One of my least favorite AT40 specials was the one about the Top 10 Producers. It's not a subject that most listeners particularly care about.

You are expecting far too much from Premiere, my friend.
Everything for this weekend has already been uploaded to the server. Stations are already downloading.
And the Christmas shows are not "bonus" shows, they are "B" shows with the same commercials as the "A" for the week.
And even if all of the above could be managed on short notice, you would still be at the mercy of stations making the decision to carry an additional show, because they would still have the legal obligation to carry the commercials (in other words, they can't just dump the scheduled show to run the bonus).
The chance of the stars aligning for all of that to happen is less than 1%. Sorry.

It's also slim and none for Premiere to air AT40 guest hosted shows (Premiere did 4 bonus guest hosted AT40 shows in the past - 1 with Dick Clark, 1 with Gary Owens, and 2 with Mark Elliott - all after thier deaths).
