I will go ahead and predict 4/14/84 for the week of April 15. OR...there's your "B" to 1980.

On this week's presentation from 4/5/86,Casey mentioned that there were two songs titled "I Can't Wait"-One was by the group Nu Shooz & the other was by Stevie Nicks-Casey also stated it had happened twice before-The first time was in 1971 with "Superstar"-That was the title of a song by The Temptations & a similarly titled song by The Carpenters-The second instance was in 1979 with a song called "Crazy Love"-One song with that name was by The Allman Brothers-The other song was by Poco-Casey forgot to mention that a third song with the title "Superstar" also reached the top forty in 1971-That was by Murray Head from the rock opera "Jesus Christ Superstar". The next times where 2 different songs with the same title were in the top 40 were in: 1988 - "Don't Be Cruel" - One by Bobby Brown, another by Cheap Trick 1990 - "Hold On" - One by Wilson Phillips, another by En Vogue Earlier this year was “Die For You” by both The Weeknd and Joji. Ryan mentioned on the Hot AC show that there’s a mash up of the two.

I will go ahead and predict 4/14/84 for the week of April 15. OR...there's your "B" to 1980. April 14th, 1984, should have been the A show for the weekend of April 15th, last time it was one, 2010, Premiere's wacked out scheduling strikes again, 4/17/82 has now been an A three times (2013, 2019 & 2023) in that span, then also only 4 weeks since 3/20/82, 1984 (2/18/84) had a longer drought!

According to someone on Facebook the B show is 4/9/1988.

That pretty much sets up 5/14/88 (last aired 2016 as a 'B' and in 2012 by itself) to be a standalone.
1983 and 1984 will almost surely be standalone presentations the last two weeks of April (since 1985 is ineligible until the first week of May.)

If that happens, I'll go with 4/21/1984 and 4/30/1983, both last ran in 2018 (1983 as a "B", originally aired in 2014). That 1983 show is probably my favorite show of that year, since it's the first post-Wardlow chart, but moreso because of the music.
ETA: I'll go with 5/11/1985 for the weekend of 5/6. It last aired in 2018 as a "B", otherwise not since its only other airing in 2011.

This week's optional extras; I think both are the same as before.
A:April 12, 1980:
Hour #1: "The Rose" - Bette Midler (#58) Hour #2: "Funkytown" - Lipps Inc. (#61) Hour #3: "We Live For Love" - Pat Benatar (#78) Hour #4: "Hurt So Bad" - Linda Ronstadt (#46; highest debut)
B: April 9, 1988:
Hour #1: "Wild Thing" - Tone Loc Hour #2: "Everything Your Heart Desires" - Hall & Oates Hour #3: "(It's Just) The Way That You Love Me" - Paula Abdul Hour #4: "One More Try" - George Michael
None of these was on that week's Hot 100. The George Michael and Hall & Oates songs entered it the following week (which was guest hosted), Tone Loc hit #2 in February 1989, and Paula Abdul's first charted at #88 in late 1988, then returned to hit #3 a year later.

But 4/14/1984 was run as a B in 2020, so while it could have been possible to air it again, I think it was a little bit too soon. 2024 could seem likely as a possible standalone show...

So April 9, 1988 is the B show and not April 14, 1984? Maybe April 14, 1984 can be the B show for April 17, 1982 the April 15-16, 2023 week.

It's probably 4/18/87 since 1983, 1984 and 1985 are due for standalone presentations and we just had a 1986 standalone and a 'B' from 1988 is this coming weekend.
