Score another victory for auto “correct”: It changed my Tommy Tutone to Tyrone… I forgot to mention that the second LDD mentioned thankfulness and friendship. I immediately thought that the song would be two- hit wonder Andrew Gold’s “Thank You for Being a Friend,” which we just heard a week or so ago on the 1978 countdown. The 3/20/82 dedication was by a two- hit wonder but Climax Blues Band, their 1981 song “ I Love You.” The freaky thing about this is that I bought 45s by Andrew Gold (“Lonely Boy”) and Climax Blues Band (“Couldn’t Get It Right”) on the same day in April 1977.

Did many stations end up playing 1985 this past weekend? Even a station normally goes with the later year, KOSF, went with 1982. There was actually more stations that aired 1985 this past weekend than 1987 the last weekend in January. at40fg.proboards.com/thread/245?page=9

"I Feel Fine" by The Beatles is one of the featured "AT40 Archive" songs on this week's A show presentation from 3/28/81-It was the sixth # 1 song the group had in 1964-"I Feel Fine" is rather noteworthy in that it marked one of the earliest examples of the use of feedback as a recording effect in popular music-The flip side of "I Feel Fine" was "She's A Woman" which charted separately on the Billboard Hot 100-That song peaked at # 4 the same week that "I Feel Fine" was # 1.

Getting ready for 3/28/81 on WWIS-This is going to be an awesome countdown! Agree--starting out with an excellent Donna Summer single that inexplicably peaked at 40. Actually it is 'explicable': 'Disco backlash', even though the song itself isn't very 'discoey'.

What stations are likely to air the 1987 show including extras this weekend? I'll check both KZOY and WQCY. I know KZOY doesn't play extras.

Fingers crossed that KZOY doesn't air 1981 on Saturday. I alerted John at KZOY to try to run the 1987 show on Saturday and he thinks the problem is fixed and 1987 will run. Hopefully it is a permanent fix. Thanks for contacting him! It's airing.

WFMX 5am (plays extras, has a tendency to start before the top of the hour) WTKU 6am (plays extras, they add a reverberation effect to the broadcast) WGRQ 6am (plays extras, stream geo-blocked) KOSF 11am (no extras) WLKN 3pm (plays extras) WFRO 8pm (2 out of 4 extras) KONO 8pm (no extras, stream geo-blocked) KOSF 11pm (no extras)
