With next weekend (July 30-31, 2022) for AT40: The 80's being 8/1/1981 (A show - B show TBD), could the weekend of August 6-7, 2022 for AT40: The 80's be the last original run Casey AT40 show of 8/6/1988 as the last AT40 1988 show for the year and even as an A standalone show since 1988 shows went to standalone status as of last year?

With next weekend (July 30-31, 2022) for AT40: The 80's being 8/1/1981 (A show - B show TBD), could the weekend of August 6-7, 2022 for AT40: The 80's be the last original run Casey AT40 show of 8/6/1988 as the last AT40 1988 show for the year and even as an A standalone show since 1988 shows went to standalone status as of last year? I wouldn't rule out the following weekend, since the calendar will still line up with the final Casey show of 1988. "B" show selections don't always line up with the "A" show. (Like in February this year, 2/13/1982 was paired with 2/6/1988; calendars were the same those years in February. Same for 11/6/2021, when 11/8/1980 and 11/15/1986 were paired; 1980 and 1986 had the same November calendar.) 1983 and 1988 line up at this point in 2022; only January and February 1988 line up with 1982. |

It could, though I've noticed Premiere likes to save that for 5-year anniversaries of the end of Casey's first run (2008, 2013, 2018), so maybe more likely next year. If they do play it, it should work as a standalone; we had a 1988 B in July but not by itself since June, and seven weeks later isn't too close together especially as we won't get that year for at least another five months. |

More on 7/23/1983: I didn't know Martin "The Salt in My Tears" Briley's teacher was Arthur Brown, who had the #2 song "Fire" in 1968.

Prediction for next show:
8/1/87
Likely 8/6/88 waits until next year and with 1985 as the 'B' to the coming week's 1981 show the 1987 show appears to be the candidate for the first week of August.
