Had the countdown used the entire chart (which it would starting the following January), I would have known what was going on (as "Tell Her No" had dropped back to #33 that week). Going 31-26-33 is still very unusual in any case (full run: 39-36-34-31-26-33-off); it'd be 1989-esque if not for its still having a bullet at 26.

Here are the optional extras for August 6, 1983… Hour #1: Holiday Road – Lindsey Buckingham Hour #2: (She's) Sexy + 17 – Stray Cats Hour #3: Tonight I Celebrate My Love – Peabo Bryson & Roberta Flack Hour #4: Kiss The Bride – Elton John Ooo these extras are Eltimate Peteski! And so is the show with MJx2, Charlie, Hollies, America! ELO, Rick Springfield, Rockin' Rod! Maybe not quite the embarrassment of the late Spring/early Summer 83 riches, but I'm Never Gonna Let this show go.

If I ever heard that Charlie song at #40 before I don't remember it. Great stuff. I can do without the #39 Hollies STOP! cover though.

For some reason, the first nine pages is an American County Countdown cue sheet for the same date.

For some reason, the first nine pages is an American County Countdown cue sheet for the same date. Here's the one I downloaded from CMG a few years back: 19840811-AT40.pdf (215.55 KB)

Prediction for next week's show:
1st Guess - 8/24/85 2nd Guess - 8/23/80
A fourth straight month of 1985? Looks likely...a few other years could happen as well. Just not 1982, '83, '84, or '86...

Along with the usual suspects (KZOY & KABQ), KOKZ (Sun 8 am central) is going with August 11, 1984.
