No surprise that "You Might Think" would be an optional extra for this week's rebroadcast from 1984, considering it would be a tribute to Ric Ocasek who passed away last week.

FWIW, the following shows have only been played once as an 'A' show (but have been offered at least one other time as a 'B' show): 10/09/82: 2011 10/23/82: 2013 10/29/83: 2014 10/18/86: 2018 10/25/86: 2011* 10/10/87: 2013 10/31/87: 2015* *aired as a 'B' in 2018 10/18/86 was an A in 2012, and a B in 2017. I can see three of these four years getting played sometime in October, with 1986 likely being the odd one out as it may be too soon after this weekend's airing. Yeah that was a typo on my part--should've said 2012 for 10/18/86.

Prediction for next week's show:
1st Guess - 10/4/80 2nd Guess - 10/9/82
Popular opinion seems to be that 1980 goes for next week, and I will jump on that bandwagon. 1980 does now have the longest dry spell, and 10/4/80 hasn't been played at all in nine years. 10/9/82 has only aired once as an 'A' show (2011), and hasn't been played at all since 2015.

Prediction for next show:
10/4/80
It's already been revealed that it's a show that's paired with another. It's too soon for 1981 again, 10/3/87 aired only 2 years ago so that leaves only 10/9/82 as the other possibility. It last aired as a 'B' in 2015 but the 1980 show last aired in 2010.

Hmmm. So I'm guessing that means that either 1980 won't be one of the shows next week, or everyone's predictions were off by one week and we'll be getting 10/11/1980 instead. This week's Billboard issue: September 29, 19841984 Hot 100 charts

I guess "You Dropped A Bomb On Me" with next week's prediction ."I Get Excited" whenever I anticipate a future show, so I guess we'll "Hold On" and hopefully you won't take your "Sweet Time" to reveal it to us. When you find out, please "Break It To Me Gently " As for 10-4-80, I guess it's "Hard To Say I'm Sorry" that it won't air this year ?

This week's Billboard issue: September 29, 19841984 Hot 100 chartsThough 10/11/80 doesn't really make much sense for Oct. 5-6, as not only was it played more recently (2015) than the previous week's show, but would fit better the following week in terms of dates. 10/9/82 followed by 10/11/80 would work nicely, especially as those are the years with the longest droughts, though not very long as 1980 and 1982 were A's in back-to-back weeks in August. If we don't get 10/4 or 10/11/80 then there's probably no 1980 A's until November, as the other two October 1980 shows were aired in 2017-18.

So everyone was right in their predictions. Then what did Pete mean in his post earlier?

So everyone was right in their predictions. Then what did Pete mean in his post earlier? burcjm correctly ID'd the 1980 program. He then suggested October 3, 1987 as the "B" show but appeared to wave it off as a possibility. That's why I said he was so close.

f-hour Just as a heads up this week's game is 3:00 Central so expect a time switch of some sort. I'm active on a sports broadcasting website (as is a former poster here BTW) so I can post each week's game time midweek if you want me to. Michigan State plays at Noon Saturday so AT 40 should air as scheduled. 3:30 this weekend so there will be another time switch. Back to last weekend's show for a minute. The KTSO podcast, which is taken from the Tuesday night airing, included "You Give Love A Bad Name", which was the Hour 1 OE, as an end-of-hour filler song after either Hour 2 or 3. Then after the show was over the first song played was "Dancing On The Ceiling", which had been played about 20 minutes earlier at #3. As an aside KTSO apparently doesn't sell many ads for the Tuesday airing. The podcast often starts with the last pre-countdown song, they play all of the OE's and some filler songs and the show very rarely gets cut off (and as I said this week included part of the first post-countdown song).
