AT40 archives

I know that American Top 40 stopped doing the AT40 archives segment in December 1981. But, I have been listening to the AT40 shows from 1981 over the past few months, and I have noticed that there were some AT40 shows from that year where they didn't do the AT40 archives segments, and I am not talking about the shows when they stopped doing the segment. I'm talking the some of the shows that were aired earlier in that year.

I'm pretty sure they did AT40 Archives consistently through the end of November 1981, except for the week of the Beatles special. There were a few weeks early in the year that they only played two Archive songs instead of the normal three, but there were no full show gaps that I know of.

Are some of the shows you're listening to from AT40 Flashback? They edited out the Archive feature for those.
