Seeing that this is Thanksgiving week,I'd thought it'd be a good idea to list songs that you think are real turkeys-Here are a few of my choices: 1)."Seasons In The Sun" 2)."Run Joey Run" 3)."Whoomp!-There It Is" 4)."Informer" 5)."Who Let The Dogs Out"

mrjukebox, This idea is just leftovers from another thread. However, I'll still bite:
1)Mashed Potato Time -- Dee Dee Sharp 2)Linger -- The Cranberries 3)Jive Turkey -- Ohio Players (OK, bad table manners 'cause I listed a non-Top 40 record) ...And by special request from Dennis Coffey... 4)Apple, Peaches, Pumpkin Pie -- Jay & The Techniques ;D

Request from Dennis Coffey, explain that one Pete...
At least you didn't say Funky Worm, now that song is AWESOME!

Request from Dennis Coffey, explain that one Pete... I took full advantage of mrjukebox's thread and created an indirect theme. The songs I listed aren't really turkeys, they're titles or artists all had a connection to a Thanksgiving dinner. And what better way to top off a full-course meal than with some pie and "Coffey"? I guess "it loses its flavor" if you gotta explain it.

Continuing on Pete's theme, I'd mention "Gravy (For My Mashed Potatoes)" (Dee Dee Sharp); "Let's Turkey Trot" (Little Eva); "Sweet Potato Pie" (Domino); and "Pumpkin Pie" (Evan Taubenfeld). With the pies, serve "The Coffee Song" (Frank Sinatra).
Honorable mentions; the Beatles' "Strawberry Fields Forever", in which John mentions cranberry sauce; and James Brown's "Make It Funky", where he calls-and-responds several foods with his band.

I remember radio host Rollye James would have listeners call in and name their "turkeys" in the lead-up to Thanksgiving, and on Thanksgiving she would count them down. There were a couple of years that I called in and suggested the following:
"Afternoon Delight" - Starland Vocal Band "Waiting for a Star to Fall" - Boys Meets Girl "Heaven on the 7th Floor" - Paul Nicholas

"Waiting for a Star to Fall" - Boys Meets Girl One of my favorite songs. It was the very first #1 song on my first personal chart.

Honorable mentions; the Beatles' "Strawberry Fields Forever", in which John mentions cranberry sauce; Other sources say that he was actually saying "I buried Paul", part of the "Paul is dead" rumors from the 1960s.
