I read somewhere that Bob Eubanks sub-hosted AT40 in January 1982 and again in April 1983. I heard an opening of the following week's broadcast when Casey returned, and Casey remarked, "if he were to host Newlywed Game again, he's probably let me be a contestant."
If Bob Eubanks were to have hosted later in the 1980s, would Casey have remarked the same thing, only that time with Card Sharks and not just Newlywed Game?
I do admit, Bob Eubanks did a really good job hosting Card Sharks during most of the last half of the 1980s. I enjoy his version more than that of Jim Perry's. It's sad that Game Show Network seems to be addicted to airing the same 200 episodes over and over again like there is no tomorrow. One can only hope for improvement in the new year.

I couldn't agree with you more on your above comments! Guess we need to enjoy the same episodes over and over again, because those may be the only ones we ever see at the rate GSN is going!

I think it's a practice of being economical - they pay for 200 episodes at a time, and after 1 1/2 to 2 years of accumulated revenue and total daily ratings, they may pick up more. They did it with Press Your Luck in 2001 and 2003, so I can see the same happening with Card Sharks. The show is not doing too bad, with 3 total airings a day. And starting on Veteran's Day, we will be upped to 5 airings on Fridays, as an extra opportunity to get ratings and possibly more episodes in 2012. If the show was not doing that great, both runs would be off the air by now.

Screw all that! I want more Match Game or drop the number of times it airs a day!!!! They'll probably drop the extra airings after they pick up additional episodes someday. IF they pick up more episodes, that is. It takes extra airings to possibly achieve the ratings quota it needs to pick up more episodes.

By the time I was 4 or 5 I was watching game shows. I watched Dawson's Family Feud every night at 7:30 locally, and also watched Jokers Wild, Tic Tac Dough, and have vague memories of Wheel of Fortune pre-Sajak and Hollywood Squares....this I have vague memories of seeing that puppet Madame on it.I never saw Match Game that I recall as a kid. It went off in 82 so it's possible I did and don't remember. But it never ran in reruns on USA like all those other old ones did so I never, ever saw it. So when I finally got Game Show Network in 2000 I never gave MG a try. I figured it wasn't that great since I had never seen it in reruns years before. Last August I finally gave the show a chance....I LOVE IT!!! I have the DVDs and on this last loop they ran I recorded them all. But I want to see more of it. Not the same 400 shows airing from 8-9, 11-noon, and starting next week Fridays from 7-8pm.

Well, I have to come to the rescue. I can send you a YouTube link to a user's channel who uploaded a bunch of Match Game episodes - many of which GSN doesn't have the rights to air at this moment. There are also 1978 and 1979 episodes that were not shown on GSN since 2005 or early 2006.
And btw, speaking of Bob Eubanks, I am now in the process of downloading one of his AT40 episodes.

I just finished downloading the 4/16/1983 episode that someone sent me, and I must say his intro sounded really cool. He even acknowledged he then hosted a game show on NBC called Dream House (GSN hasn't aired such show as yet, and probably never will, though I heard all of the series does exist) - it was after just debuting on NBC nearly 2 weeks ago as of when his AT40 appearance did originally air.

Thanks, i know about that channel on YouTube. I'd just like to see them on tv so I can record them and so they are actually in order from start to finish.

It would be nice for some people to be able to download guest hosted AT40 shows.
