Reverse jinx on 9/1/84: Casey said that if Elton Hercules John (the middle name was mentioned in the story) hit the top 40 with a new song each year through 1991, he’d break Elvis’ record of 1956-77. Elt ultimately did that, and then some.

Yes, Elton John a/k/a Hercules did break the Elvis record in 1992 when Shadoe Stevens was the AT40 host and when it was in the 1 year Top 40 Radio Monitor Billboard chart source.

In a jinx preview for next week's 1982 show Casey said McCartney was twelve short of catching Bing Crosby's 63 top tenner record and the way he was racking up top tenners his pursuit showed no signs of slowing down. 40 years later and Paul has only scored a handful of additional top tenners.
On the same show Casey said Summer had an explosive top tenner average 12 outta sixteen top 40s. Donna would only reach the top ten a couple more times.

Extending this to the movies, on 9/13/75 Casey noted that "Jaws" was the fourth highest grossing film in history at the time, and that the three ahead of it ("The Godfather", "The Sound of Music", and "Gone With the Wind") all won Best Picture Oscars. He implied that a similar Oscar sweep could be in the making for "Jaws"; instead "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" swept the 1975 awards, including Best Picture. I would refer to this as a Supersized jinx

In a supersized 1975 jinx Casey said, "here is a song that is charting like a #1"...#9 Run Joey Run would only go five spots higher. One song later there was a Supersized jinx/reverse jinx. Casey said "it looks like John Denver is headed to the top one more time". I'm Sorry would get to #1 and it would be Denver's final trip there, or even the top 10.

Casey states on this week's 10-15-77 show, that "Cold As Ice" moves one notch each week from 10-9-8-7, and at this rate should be #1 in six weeks. Sorry, next week is it at 6, and that's the peak.
