On the 9/26/1987 show, I noticed during the story before "I Just Can't Stop Loving You" that Casey mentioned "Man In the Mirror", which didn't hit the Top 40 until a few months later. Is this the only time he mentioned a future Top 40 song on the show during one of his stories?

if you mean he predicted a tune to hit the top 40 in the next week or so, he predicted ROCK AROUND THE CLOCK will re-hit the charts again in a few weeks on a show once, and it did, as well as when Charlie Rich had 2 top 40 hits at once, he was predicting he will have two songs on the chart at the same time, and he was right a week later.

It happened previously with another Michael Jackson song. On the 12/17/83 show, Casey mentioned how the video for "Thriller" was eligible for an Academy award. The single had not been released yet.

When listing #1s on other charts, I'm sure a lot of those songs were mentioned before hitting the pop Top 40, particularly R&B chart hits.

There was a show in 1988 when, after playing Out of the Blue, Casey mentioned that the follow-up, Foolish Beat, was climbing the Hot 100, and would likely debut soon.

On the 10/18/75 show SXM played today, Casey mentioned two Freddy Fender songs that debuted in the Hot 100 that week. One of them, Secret Love, eventually hit the Top 40.

When talking about After The Fire's cover of Der Kommissar, he mentioned Falco. Around 3 years before he charted in the top 40.

Casey mentioned the "Falco" version of Der Kommissar in the 1983 Year end show just before the After the Fire version was played.

I think he mentioned that "Stand By Me" had re-entered the Hot 100 before it re-entered the Top 40.

Casey also mentioned 'Do they know it's Christmas?', and 'We are the world', before they hit AT40.

Didn't Casey mention, and even play a drop piece of the individual song "Thriller" in the Spring of 1983? The portion he played had Vincent Price on it, and that aspect is what was talked about. My brain is a sieve, I can't remember which week.
