Hope WSQL doesn't drop AT40: The 70's for good post Hurricane Helene. WMGN Magic 98 Madison, Wisconsin dropped AT40: The 70's (and AT40: The 80's) 2 months after the COVID pandemic started in March 2020.

As caseyfan100 points out,WSQL didn't have time to download this week's episode of "AT40-The 70's"-Perhaps they'll be able to do it on Saturday (10/5).

There's more important things happening in that region of the country. They were knocked off the air for a few days and it probably took a big effort just to get back on the air. The least important thing for WSQL right now is to air AT40. The people of that region need them and other radio stations that are on the air is to be what these stations need to be at this time and that's serving their local communities.

I'll go with 10/13/73 over 10/17/70 & 10/15/77 for next weekend. 10/13/73 last aired as an "A" show in 2009, "B" show in 2021. Premiere aired 10/17/70 in 2019. 10/15/77 last appeared as an "A" show in 2019. For the "B" show, I'll go with 10/13/79.

The first radio station I worked at in Alabama in 1979 was in the path of Hurricane Frederic in September and I know that we were one of only two stations that stayed on the air during the storm. We had hooked the station up to World War II generators to keep from losing power (which did happen to the area). I recall that the station was one of the first places to have 'regular' power restored, after the storm passed, and as many of you indicate the station was a major source of information for the area. We served a small area of Alabama (about 70 miles north of Mobile) and I know people really depended on us (and some weekly newspapers) to keep up with events in the area. We took the responsibility of serving the community very seriously and I hope today's stations fulfill the same need. Maybe we should all donate to some agency that is helping the people affected by Helene.

If next weekend's AT40: The 70's show is 10/13/1973, would Premiere replace the accidentally played B-side of "You're a Special Part of Me" ("I Think I'm Falling In Love With You") by Marvin Gaye and Diana Ross with the correct A side of that single song? Then play the mistake B-side song as an OPTIONAL EXTRA - just like Premiere did for Rod Stewart's "Angel" (A side) and "Lost Paragoys" (B side originally accidentally played) for AT40 12/16/1972?

I remember during the Summer 1993 Midwest flooding rains period when then Shadoe Stevens AT40 station WXLC 102.3 FM Waukegan/Libertyville, Illinois didn't play the 7/3/1993 Shadoe AT40 show due to not getting that week's show because of the station flood surroundings - and it was the same 7/4/1993 weekend WBBM B 96 FM Chicago dropped Casey's Top 40 in favor the short lived The Retro Show on Sundays! The next bet was picking up WBUS 99.9 FM Kankakee, Illinois to get Casey's Top 40 access that weekend. For the record, WXLC aired Shadoe Stevens AT40 Sunday mornings at 8 AM following Jim "Captain Whammo" Channel's "Contemporary Christian Countdown" show.

That's well said that there are more important things than AT40 for WSQL. This has nothing to do with AT40 so you'll have to give me a pass. But they sponsored a bike ride that I rode on earlier this year. There are many such rides in and around the mountains of NC. One way to help besides sending supplies which I have done through my bicycling club is to sign up for those rides. I will be doing that as much as possible going forward. Ok back to the countdown.

Bad news, WXXM Rewind 92.1 FM Madison Wisconsin isn't airing this Saturday morning AT40: The 70's in its 8 AM time slot and is playing its normal classic hits! Maybe there's a time change or someting? I'll check at 9 AM or otherwise I will send a facebook message and/or email to the station.
