What 1970's AT40 specials have not yet been played by Premiere? According to my records, specials that have not yet been played by Premiere (and most of these likely never will be aired since most or all of the songs from them are from before the 1970s or 80's and thus wouldn't be a fit with subscribing stations' formats): 5/1/71 - TOP 40 ARTISTS OF THE ROCK 'N' ROLL ERA (1955-1971) SPECIAL 9/30/72 - TOP 40 ARTISTS (9/1/67 - 9/1/72) SPECIAL 4/7/73 - MOST POPULAR RECORDS OF THE LAST FIVE YEARS SPECIAL 7/7/73 - TOP 40 DISAPPEARING ACTS SPECIAL 10/6/73 - TOP 40 RECORDING ACTS OF THE ROCK ERA (1955-1973) SPECIAL 4/6/74 - TOP 40 MOST EXTRAORDINARY BRITISH HITS SPECIAL 4/5/75 - TOP 40 DISAPPEARING ACTS II SPECIAL 7/5/75 - 5TH ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL (Replay of 7/11/70 with some added Casey commentary) 10/4/75 - TOP ROCK AND ROLL ACTS OF THE 50'S SPECIAL 7/3/76 - 40 YEARS OF JULY 4TH #1 SONGS SPECIAL 10/2/76 - TOP 40 SONGS OF THE BEATLES ERA (1964 - 1970) SPECIAL 7/5/80 - AT40 BOOK OF RECORDS SPECIAL It will be interesting to see if the 7/11/70 show that is supposedly in the schedule for 4th of July weekend this year is the original show or the 7/5/75 version. I also don't think we've gotten the "AT40 Goes To the Movies" special, originally aired 4/1/78. Most of these I agree we are unlikely ever to hear from Premiere, at least officially, as in over a decade of AT40 reruns they've never played most specials where most of the music isn't from the 1970s and/or 80s (except for the Christmas shows). But some individual stations might. Ken Martin at WTOJ not only aired the Bicentennial show, with #1's from 1937-76, but brought it up to date with a self-created sequel covering the next 40 years.

The optional extras for "THE 40 TOP SINGLES ARTISTS OF THE 70'S" when it aired the Fourth of July weekend in 2016:
"Take It Easy" The Eagles "Burning Love" Elvis Presley "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart" The Bee Gees
For 5/24/75, I'll go with:
"Hey You" "The Hustle" "Why Can't We Be Friends"

Yeah I forgot about the AT40 Goes To the Movies special -- thanks for the heads up. Agree that there could be some one-offs, or perhaps a "bonus" show special aired in the future. One show that's almost a guarantee never to air in the AT40 - 70's series is the Top R&R Acts of the 50's Special. Outside of SXM's 50's on 5 channel, I don't know if there are any terrestrial stations that air 50's songs anymore (though there are probably a few oddball ones out there, but very few and far between--and they certainly wouldn't be a subscriber of the AT40 classics series).

"The Top R&R Acts Of The 50's" would be a perfect fit for the "50's On 5" channel on Sirius/XM.

Sad to hear that guitarist Jorge Santana has passed away. He's the brother of Carlos Santana, and the guitarist behind Malo's "Suavecito", a song on this week's 72 show. He was 68.

Rumor has it that "Little Old Man" by Bill Cosby will be deleted from the rebroadcast of the first show this summer.

Rumor has it that "Little Old Man" by Bill Cosby will be deleted from the rebroadcast of the first show this summer. If so, that would differ from this Premiere cue sheet which keeps that extra in but deletes "Spinning Wheel" by Blood, Sweat, and Tears, an extra that fell between #10 and #9 in both the 1970 original and 1975 special rebroadcasts. Whatever they do with Cosby, BS&T should stay in.

Enjoying the '72 show for a second time on KLFM, after WSQL yesterday. Really enjoying it, lots of memories of 'escaping' Junior High just a couple of weeks after I originally heard this show 48 years ago.

Listening to 5-20-72 on KLFM where we got 2 Horses with no name. The AT40 version was more like a mule. This must be the AT40 show that mentions the ugliest word of 2020 more than once. "Me And Julio Down By The School Yard" says goodbye to Rosie, but it looks like Rosie is going to be hanging around longer than expected.

A good few of those specials were played on the iHeart My50,60s and 70s channels during the July 4th holiday period of 2015
