Prediction for next week's show:
1st Guess - 6/23/73 2nd Guess - 6/26/71
Full disclosure, these are actually my guesses for the next two weeks. But there is a possibility 1971 could happen next week

In his intro to "Stay" by Jackson Browne,Larry Morgan acknowledged that the song was originally a # 1 hit for Maurice Williams & The Zodiacs in 1960-However,Larry neglected to mention that "Stay" was also a hit for The Four Seasons in 1964.

Casey read a QL (Question Letter) in which a listener asked about family acts where either the mother or father was featured on vocals-Casey mentioned The Cowsills,The Staple Singers & The Partridge Family-Interestingly enough,"The Partridge Family" TV series was directly inspired by The Cowsills.

My picks:
* “Rings” — Cymmaron. Of note: Later in 1971 covered for country audiences by Tompall and the Glaser Borthers. This past week, Chuck, the last surviving Glaser brother, passed away, just two months after Jim died of a heart attack. Jim wrote several songs for Gary Puckett and the Union Gap in the late 1960s and had some solo hits in the 1980s. Tompall died in 2013.
* “Signs” — Five Man Electrical Band.
* “If Not For You” — Olivia Newton-John.

One of the shortest (the original Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs version) and longest (Jackson Browne, when combined with “The Load Out”). Brian

Hopefully this Sunday Ken/WTOJ will give us another supersized 1978 show!! Never saw official word if Ken edited the 06.17.78 show to full 45 single lengths - but from listening to the show on WTOJ - it did not appear so. For example - Michael Johnson's Bluer Than Blue was only around 2:15 in length and the stereo 45 shows the length at 2:54.

Brian True, but "classic hits" stations rarely play the "Load Out" portion.

My picks: * “Rings” — Cymmaron. Of note: Later in 1971 covered for country audiences by Tompall and the Glaser Brothers. Great version. Love how they change the lyric from "James Taylor" to "Merle Haggard" and from "Tony and Mario" to "Johnny and Bille Joe"
