Or, if you prefer, this weekend's edition of "Casey Kasem's American Top 40: The 70s" features a rebroadcast of the program from 2/17/07. That's right...it's our first rerun.

This weekend's (9/29-30/07) edition of "Casey Kasem's American Top 40: The 70s" features a rebroadcast of the program from 9/29/73. I was hoping they would play the last 3-hour show!(9/30/78).

I hear ya, Mark...but seeing as how they sometimes play shows a week or so removed from their anniversary date, there's still hope that that show will appear NEXT weekend.

They just ran 9/30/78 on XM the week before last.
By the way, does anyone know if any of the streaming stations replay the shows at all during the week? I missed out on all the broadcasts over the weekend...

I don't have any on my radio list... (And I recently did some extra scanning for new stations.)
I guess - classic AT40 are a weekend feature.

You don't suppose they could play a 4-hour show on the 70's show like they do with the 80's shows do you? I know it's a longshot, like hearing any Shadoe shows back in the days of the Flashback shows.

I'd heard that plans were in the works some months back to run the occasional 1979 show in the 70s series. Alas, this seems to have been shelved.
As for Shadoe shows, I highly doubt it. The show is called "CASEY KASEM's American Top 40: The 70s/80s." Also, don't forget...the Shadoe era might as well be considered the "lost episodes" of AT40...it's the era that the companies involved seem to always gloss over. As far as they want you to know, AT40 has only ever been hosted by Casey Kasem and Ryan Seacrest.

If the producers of AT40: the 80s are reluctant to include Shadoe AT40 shows, do you think that they would be more likely to include Casey's Top 40 shows from 1989?

We've been through this guys...the show is " Casey Kasem's American Top 40: The 70s/80s ". Two keys in that title: 1) Casey Kasem and 2) American Top 40. I highly doubt that we'll see a Shadoe show included in this series, and the same goes for CT40 shows. Now, I refer here to the terrestrial radio shows. Could we see Shadoe or CT40 on XM? Hopefully! (Though admittedly I'm not holding my breath...

Well, no such luck on getting the final 3-hour show...this weekend's (10/6-7/07) edition of "AT40: The 70s" will feature a rebroadcast of the show from 10/29/77.

This weekend's (10/13-14/07) edition of "AT40: The 70s" will feature a rebroadcast of the show from 10/30/76. This show features Casey's at-that-point-"future" and at-this-point-"current" countdown host competitor Rick Dees and, to quote Rick, "a medley of his hit." Yes, it's "Disco Duck" time!
