I accidentally missed May 3, 1975 because last weekend I was out of town... I hope if other stations airing it? There's a chance WVWP may air it in either their Saturday or Sunday slot. Hard to say tho... not only do we have an A+B weekend coming up, but also for the last few months they haven't necessarily adhered to their regular A-Saturday/B-or-last-weeks-show Sunday schedule and played shows a week or two off.

As I am listening to AT40: The 70's via WXXM Rewind 92.1 FM Madison, Wisconsin this Saturday morning with 5/12/1973. The song that starts off the show at #40 - "Let's Pretend" by the Raspberries should be a touching song even in memory of the late lead singer of the Raspberries Eric Carmen who passed away earlier this 2024 year.
The #38 song by Johnny Rivers - "Blue Suede Shoes" - is one of Johnny Rivers' remakes and Casey mentioned his #1 song "Poor Side of Town" was an original by Johnny Rivers and not a remake. (Too bad Johnny Rivers never tied Donny Osmond to be the king of remake songs)

I'll go with 5/15/76 over 5/22/71 for next weekend. The only time the 5/15/76 show aired was in 2017. 5/22/71 only airing was in 2014. Perfect, I hope they wait for 1971 until Memorial Day weekend and 5/29/71, only aired once by Premiere 12 years ago back in 2012! Wasn't 5/29/1971 played as a B show some years back?

Would that sore thumb song be "Playground In My Mind"? Yeah, that's the one stinkin' up the list, with four other good songs. I may have asked before, but what makes “Playground In My Mind” a song you dislike so much? Brian

Generally don't like kids on records, and 'Michael' is worse than most. Up there with "Long-haired Lover From Liverpool" from the year before. MJ on the early J5 singles is the exception to this. Probably because he isn't trying to sound like a kid on them.

The worst kid voice was Donny Osmond. Listening to him as a kid was cringe worthy. "Sweet and Innocent", "Go Away Little Girl", "Puppy Love" UGH!

But was it by 1973 Donny's voice became deeper?

But was it by 1973 Donny's voice became deeper? And he continued to sing those songs in concert into adulthood. Video sharing services have several examples of Donny singing“Sweet and Innocent, “Go Away Little Girl,” “One Bad Apple,” etc. within the last 10 years (2014 to now). Brian

I found it annoying as a 10-year old when it aired in 1973. And I remember the little neighbor girl across the street singing it. That said, it does bring back memories from that time of my life.

Secret Supersizing?? The big voice guy didn't announce it but that was an extremely long first hour for 1973.
If it wasn't, WTOJ must have a heavy commercial load right now.
