Premiere updated it with a brief synopsis of Rodgers' doings from this point in 1977 until his death at 87 in January 2021. I found it interesting, but I'm old enough to recall his mysterious head injury 'incident' in December 1967. Which was just a couple of months after his final top 40 single, "Child Of Clay", had peaked at 31 in October/November of '67. Good lyric, if you've never heard it. The last of 25 chart singles Rodgers had put out since "Honeycomb" a decade earlier. He was more than just an 'obscure late '50s singer'. More on Rodgers: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimmie_Rodgers_(pop_singer) Don't forget Jimmie Rodgers' "Honeycomb" was re-recorded by Rodgers himself in the mid 1960's for TV commercials for Post Cereals' Honey Comb cereal (featuring appearances by the animated Honey Comb Kid cowboy voiced by Rich Little). True. Rodgers also re-did a part of his 1958 single "Oh-Oh, I'm Falling In Love Again", with a part of the title changed, for...Spaghetti-Os!

WKVA repeating last week's 1974 countdown. At first I thought it was just a momentary error, but 45 minutes later that show's still playing.

Don't Give Up on Us, Larry Morgan intro and outro update on it to reflect on his recent passing, and also one week away hitting countdown

Hearing that Leo Sayer "You Make me Feel Like Dancing" story took me to Wikipedia. There's no mention of that anecdote on the Wiki page for YMMFLD but there is a mention of Ray Parker Jr claiming *he* wrote the song but was denied credit for it. (Ironic, as 8 years later he would famously be accused of ripping off Huey Lewis' "I Want a New Drug" for "Ghostbusters".)

WPNC has been messing up the last couple weeks on their Saturday airings. Last week they didn't play H1S3 of 2/4/1978, this week they skipped H2S3 of 2/12/1977. (On the Tuesday night/Wednesday morning replay a few nights ago they did play the missing segment of 2/4/1978)

The 1977 show I heard on WZON included a new credit, voiced by Larry Morgan, for Ken Martin for "supersizing" and removing the original edits. This despite the fact that to my knowledge WTOJ is the only station that actually airs Ken's supersized shows. (Does anyone else?)

Clearly the stories are incompatible. Either it originated as a spontaneous jam as the producer said, or Parker wrote it. Guess you gotta decide who you want to believe....

That was also part of Larry Morgans outro as it played on WPNC for 2/12/1977. Best as I could tell, aside from the missing segment on WPNC (about 18 minutes) and the reconfigured segments break-ups for commercial breaks, there was nothing appreciably different from previous airings.

I inadvertently give that supersized segment to Toby Petty by mistake. I don't know how it made it past Quality Control on their end. As they say, dookie happens.

Hopefully one day all stations will be Supersized but until then, there is the original. Just starting 1977!! cb.streamguys1.com:80/wtoj.aacThe big voice guy intro'd the show as 2/2/74!! But then the comforting Shuckatoom started!!
