After reaching #1 in 1977 with her first Top 40 single, it took more than 2½ years for Mary MacGregor to score a second hit. “Good Friend” peaked at #39 on 10/13/79 and marked her final Top 40 appearance.

Were there 2 versions by James Brown of "Please Please Please" that were released? The original in 1960 never made Billboard's Hot 100 and the 1964 version reached #95 on Billboard's Hot 100. Yes you are correct. Wiki notes that the record was re-released in 1964 with the label adding "crowd noise" to make it appear it was a "live version." It was that 1964 version that reached #95. HOWEVER, the AT40 scriptwriter(s) gave Casey a script to read that said the 1950s original only made it to #95, and someone at Premiere decided to "alter history" by removing the "peak at #95" references and inserting BOGUS "never made the Hot 100" statements by Casey. Why does anyone think it's a good idea to try to revise history? If Casey said it, it should be left in the show, as it was said. At least that same 10/13/1979 AT40: The 70's kept in another mistake done by Casey as originally heard that was sent in by an AT40 fan from then AT40 NYC 1979 station 99X in New York City (Where one time 1979 AT40 guest host Bumper Morgan worked for) that there were 2 more stuttering title #1's besides "My Sharona", "Bennie and the Jets", and "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet". One was correct - "Saturday Night" by the Bay City Rollers, and one he thought but Casey later corrected a month later that it isn't - "Jive Talkin'" by the Bee Gees. For the record, the next stuttering title #1 didn't come until 1985 with "Susuddio" by Phil Collins.

Aren't 1979 shows always supersized? And for this 10/13/1979 supersized WTOJ AT40 The 70's show, how many minutes is "Gotta Serve Somebody" by Bob Dylan on this compared to the butchered version? I bet the 45 is about 5 minutes if not an edit version.

kenmartin mentioned previously that there was an additional 11:03 added to this 1979 countdown. ETA: Did it start a bit early? End of the first hour lines up with the 10AM hour... lighter-than-usual commercial load, or not as many edits in the first hour. And now it's restarting....

Too much going on. Not only do I program WTOJ, but I'm also Ops manager for 7 other radio stations. This morning I'm juggling getting church services on the air, the Buffalo Bills game and the company is throwing a Bridal Expo this morning. Needless to say, I'm a VERY busy camper. I'm so sorry for the mix up. When I got the message that I was repeating hour 1 of the countdown, I tried to use my phone to get the correct hour of the show on the air. Unfortunately, I missed a number in the name of the file and put the Seacrest version of the countdown on the air. ARGH! In my automation playback system, Casey is labeled AT407H1S1. Seacrest is nearly the same, but without the number 7 (AT40H1S1).

Sadly, even this show has the 'Bowlderized' edit of "Bad Blood" in it. SO stupid and unnecessary, and NOT done in the original show! Nothing a 'lil Supersizing can't fix, the Bit** was back in Neil and Elt's WTOJ version!
