One of the four 'droppers' from this week's '75 chart is B.Y. Express' "Give It What You Got", which fell to #85 after spending two weeks at #40. 85 would be as low as the single would get for a while. The following week it would start rising back up the Hot 100, as radio 'flipped' the 45 and began playing the 'B'-side, "Peace Pipe". The single would re-enter the 40 om the 11/1 chart, an would achieve a second, higher peak position of #31 the following two weeks.

Listening to 9/20/75 on WSQL right now-What a boat load of forgotten favorites!-"Carolina In The Pines","Lady Blue","What A Difference A Day Makes","Theme From Jaws",& "Bad Blood"-Too bad Premiere had to delete a certain obscenity from that last song.

Wimpy 'Bowldlerized' (look it up) gutting of "Bad Blood"--why, Premiere, why? ...followed by the usual 'G-rated' single edit of "Miracles", although that one's a bit more logical. Even though the full 'steamy R-rated' LP version is SO much better.

Just posted my rant on it right as you were posting yours...

Never understood why Premiere had to tinker with "Bad Blood"-Totally agree that the longer version of "Miracles" is way better than the 45 single edit.

"Gone At Last" by Paul Simon with Phoebe Snow is another highlight from 9/20/75-That should've been a bigger hit-I believe it peaked at # 23.

If not for Dickie Goodman, whose "Mr. Jaws" jumped 12 'notches' (31-19), this 9/20/75 chart resembles something from '81/'82 in it's lack of rapid upward movement: The second-highest upward move was just 5 ("Brazil"), while 3 songs moved up 4, 2 songs rose 3 spots, a whopping 14 moved up 2 spots, and 8 climbed just a single number.
The difference between this and an '81/'82 show is that just two songs, "Third Rate Romance" and "At Seventeen", stayed in their same position as the previous week.

Ms. Snow could've been a much bigger 'star', she had the talent. She chose not to for personal reasons involving her daughter, which is SO admirable.

Current Premiere '80s show affiliate KOLA Riverside CA (now licensed to nearby Redlands) getting a 'shout out' from Casey on this show.

I'll go with 9/23/78 over 9/24/77 for next weekend. The last time 9/23/78 was the A show was 2013. 1978 has not been featured as an A show since Spring. Next week is Fall.

Loved Ms. Snow, but I'd also like to hear the version Paul did with Bette Midler, which is sitting in a vault somewhere. Her label (Atlantic) would not give permission for Columbia to release the duet.
