I assume "Disparaging Acts" is really a Disappearing Acts show (probably 1973). Though a "Disparaging Acts" countdown would have been interesting to hear....
The "Disco Countdown" I assume is the 1979 special. The others are Premiere's officially sanctioned bonus/special shows for the weekend.

Awesome!-Another 1979 show-"Street Player" was a track from "Chicago 13"-Unfortunately,it wasn't released as a single. It actually was released as a single (Columbia Records catalog #11124) but missed the Hot 100. That's how far Chicago had fallen at this point. It was their first single to miss the Hot 100 since the time of their first album back in 1969, when they had not yet had their big commercial breakthrough and were primarily regarded as an album-rock act. On the other hand, according to Wikipedia, "Street Player" did hit #91 on the Billboard Soul chart, where it was Chicago's only entry in the history of the R&B/Soul/Black chart.

To link those two specials, maybe one of the "Disparaging Acts" is Chuck Wagon and the Wheels who sang "Disco Sucks". The chorus went: Disco sucks It wont last too long It's big right now but it's gonna fade away. Take me to a honky tonk bar where I can hear me a steel guitar I'll take country music any day! www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqSBQFJRKq8The Charlie Daniels Band also disparaged disco in The Devil Went Down to Georgia. Another great disparaging act was The Flirts who sang "Don't Put Another Dime in the Jukebox", which disparaged "I Love Rock and Roll" by Joan Jett.

Many times! It made the Funny Five often in '79 and '80.

I bet Premiere does an extra change to include Fins which would enter the chart the very next week 9/8/79 as a Jimmy Buffett tribute.

So much territory could be covered by that... Neil Young vs. Skynyrd, all the rap records in the 80s that answered each other, the whole "Roxanne" thing involving numerous hip hop acts....

Although "Cheeseburger In Paradise" and "Margaritaville" extras might be added in their respective years when they come around again.

Sept 1, 1979 has been using updated jingle package though, well except each hour beginnings, and hour 4 closure. Maybe this could change sometime by early October.
I miss most parts.. but I hope to listen... wpac?

The Charlie Daniels Band also disparaged disco in The Devil Went Down to Georgia. How so? Just from ol' Satan's fiddlin' style? Seems a stretch.
