Foghat did a cover of 100 Proof Aged In Soul's "Somebody's Been Sleeping" , a song on this week's 10-24-70 show, on their 1979 LP "Boogie Motel".

For AT40: The 70's 10/24/1970: I didn't know Casey had to get help on the Temptations' song "Unite the World" that the title was Swalighi/African language or something like that.

"Unite The World" is one of the lesser known hits by The Temptations-I thought it was quite good.

LOLed this afternoon while listening to hour one of the '70 show on WSQL: Casey stated that Linda Ronstadt 'could not afford shoes' while growing up. No. Trust me, the Ronstadt family was definitely NOT poverty-stricken, A well-established local merchant family with Tucson roots going back well into the 19th Century. Paternal great-grandfather was a German immigrant who established a store here and did quite well for himself, while her maternal ancestors were from Sonora and again were NOT 'po' folks'. Like many Tucson kids growing up here in the 1940s and '50s, she went barefoot by choice. Casey also was incorrect about "Our House" -- he said it was about the house CSN&Y lived in but actually Nash wrote it about the period when he was living with Joni Mitchell.

The 10/24/70 countdown featured "Somebody's Been Sleeping" by 100 Proof Aged In Soul-One of the members was Joe Stubbs-The same countdown featured "Stillwater" by The Four Tops whose lead singer was Joe's brother Levi Stubbs-This kind of coincidence didn't occur again until the summer of 1976 when "Get Closer" by Seals & Crofts & "I'd Really Love To See You Tonight" by England Dan & John Ford Coley were in the top forty at the same time-Jim Seals is the older brother of Dan Seals.

I'm pleasantly shocked! A countdown that played the full version of "Don't Look Back."
The 4-hour 1978 shows sound so much more relaxed and smooth than the gotta-cram-everything-in 3 hour ones. Whew!

Host Dave Hoeffel will repeat the countdown tomorrow at 10 AM EST if you want to hear the above five songs in full.

^I was busy listening to Hour 1 on WPAC - by that time, they were well past the beginning of Hour 2.
Hopefully, I can find a station playing the show tomorrow - even a three-hour version would do.
