You mentoned Bill Hayes missing from the 76 show he is having a resurgence of sorts even after 90+ years old still playing Doug on the soap Days Of our Lives. In a story line where he is posed by the devil.

I checked WQRK online - They played 1971 this week. I beg your pardon dth1971 but when I tuned into WQRK this morning they led off the countdown with "I'll Be There" by The Jackson 5 which is 1970! I'm not a liar or hearing things!!!He didn't say you were.

WVWP finally airing 1978! Talking in Your Sleep by Crystal Gayle #1 country 7 movie songs 5 disco songs story Sesame Street Fever (takeoff of Saturday Night Fever), cookie monster and Big Bird Sesame Street made its presence felt in both of this weekend’s 70s shows, with “Rubber Duckie” on the 1970 chart. Around 1978 I was a regular Sesame Street viewer, and had several records from or associated with the show. That disco record wasn’t one of them, but I did have one called “The Count’s Countdown”. I wonder who or what show might have inspired or influenced that? Same. I had one where they sang “Feelings.” I think it was credited to Mary Banilow. “Sesame Street” got mentioned two years ago on the current version of AT40 regarding the show’s 50 year anniversary and they played a clip of “Rubber Ducky.”

Prediction for next week's show:
1st Guess - 9/29/73 2nd Guess - 10/6/79
Very few shows that actually work for the weekend of October 2nd ... such is the reason I'm guessing they will dip back into September and go with a show that's been played twice, but the last of those two was in 2008. Unfortunately the next time we hear it I am assuming Premiere will butcher it the way they seem to have been doing with early 70's shows lately -- cutting out split logos, teasers, etc. and putting the commercial breaks in places that don't even fit with the original cue sheets...not sure why that is, but I'm not a fan of it. In fact, half the time I'm expecting to hear a "Sirius XM 70's on 7" logo in between show segments on these shows lately.

Prediction for next week's show: 1st Guess - 9/29/73 2nd Guess - 10/6/79 It appears that one of next weekend's shows is from October 6, 1979, which last aired in 2015. Update: The "B" show is from October 13, 1973, which last aired in 2018.

10/6/1979 is the "A" show; have not yet seen what the "B" is yet. We can rule out 1970 and 1971, and maybe even 1972. 1973, 1974, and 1975 all had specials the first weekend of October, so it'll either be a late September or second week in October show for any of those years.
This would obviously set up well the only regular show in the series yet to be aired by Premiere, 11/24/1979. We'll see what happens.

With the calendar falling where it does, thinking the weekend of 11/27 makes the most sense, but sometimes Premiere likes to throw curveballs. And changeups. And screwballs. 😂 We've swung and missed many a time with predictions over the years, though our scouting report is mostly solid...

Here is the A show: Turns out that this was actually NOT the week to go guessing curveballs; this week's extras consist of three future #1s and a Fleetwood Mac. This week's extras are: Fleetwood Mac - Tusk The Commodores - Still Styx - Babe The Eagles - Heartache Tonight Here is the B show: in 2009, these were the extras for October 13, 1973: *Just You 'N' Me - Chicago *Top Of The World - Carpenters *The Most Beautiful Girl - Charlie Rich

Here is the A show: This week's extras are: Fleetwood Mac - Tusk The Commodores - Still Styx - Babe The Eagles - Heartache Tonight I wouldn't have minded if they replaced "Still" or "Babe" -- both songs are a bit too sappy for me. "Still" is one of those songs where you wonder how it ended up being a #1 -- the song more or less fell off the face of the Earth once it fell off the charts...not to mention it's quite possibly one of the most depressing #1 songs ever. Here is the B show: in 2009, these were the extras for October 13, 1973: *Just You 'N' Me - Chicago *Top Of The World - Carpenters *The Most Beautiful Girl - Charlie Rich This will actually be the third 'B' show airing for 10/13/73 since 2009 (and the fourth overall) -- it was the 'B' to 10/16/71 in 2012 and the 'B' to 10/14/78 in 2018. The extras listed will have been the same for all four airings.

"Still" is one of those songs where you wonder how it ended up being a #1 -- the song more or less fell off the face of the Earth once it fell off the charts...not too mention it's quite possibly one of the most depressing #1 songs ever. Disagree on both counts--did not 'fall off the face of the earth', as I still occasionally hear it on a local station; and what is wrong with 'depressing' songs? There are many good songs that aren't happy tunes. 'Still' is one of them. I do not care for the 45 edit, as it cuts out the second verse, which to me is the heart of the song.
