Who knew the mayoral race for the city of Brevard, North Carolina was so hotly contested and required such a lengthy debate! Should the citizens have a bike trail? Should we repaint the hydrants? Should we pre-empt American Top 40 to talk about these things??

The mayoral forum is now over, so we'll see if AT40 starts at the top of the hour in a few minutes.

So, far, no 'Satisfaction'. That's the song currently playing.

The wait continues--will they or won't they (WSQL) run the show today?

Either no show on WSQL this afternoon/evening, or else a delayed and probably shortened show. A local mayoral candidates forum is currently on air. WSQL has pre-empted the show on Thursday nights for these candidate forums in the past. Look for another pre-emption in October for city council and school board election forums as well.

It's late September and I really should be listening to KLFM, so what time does AT40 start on that station this coming Friday night? Currently, it is 10pm - 1am, but as of next week, its time slot will be 9pm-12 midnight. The parts of Australia that "fall back" do it on the first weekend of October. Since the time change doesn't start there until Saturday night/Sunday morning, KLFM should air the next two weeks starting at 10 eastern U.S. time. Friday the 8th is the first week of the change from a 10 p.m. eastern time start to a 9 p.m. start.

As Matt correctly pointed out, down in 'Oz' they're about to 'spring forward' rather than 'fall back'.

DST begins in Victoria and the three other Australian states (and one territory) that observe it on Sunday, October 3. So AT40 on KLFM has two more Fridays at the current time.

Either way, AT40 does begin at 10pm tonight.

Doesn't the southern hemisphere actually spring forward this time of year? Yes. Since it's currently spring in the Southern Hemisphere. Guess caseyfan wasn't quite '100%' correct!

KOKZ avoids overplayed 1976, goes with 1971 Overplayed in terms of B shows. We haven't had a 1976 standalone since June and probably won't until at least mid-October--a four month gap. KOKZ has most often chosen the later 70s B option to early 70s A's--something helpful when the B was originally four hours--but now with everything through 1975 getting B's that changes things up a bit. Always choosing later 70s B's in addition to the standalones from those years means that 1976-78 would be done to death and they may have wanted to vary things a bit.
