What in the hell are you talking about? This doesn't make any sense what so ever.
Well, for 4/22/1978 you'll hear "Night Fever" at #1 anyway. And when was 4/17/1971 last played on AT40: The 70's? Hope 4/17/1971 uses for an OPTIONAL EXTRA "Ain't No Sunshine" by the late Bill Withers as a tribute since Mr. Withers passed away recently. Also: Is Bill Withers' "Lovely Day" on the 4/22/1978 AT40 chart? 4/17/71 was last played in 2013 as a B to a 1979 A. In 2011 it was aired by itself. 4/22/78 was aired in 2015 and 2018 as a standalone; two years is likely too soon for it to get another A play, but it works as a B.

I don't know where these ideas are coming from, banning certain song titles during a pandemic. It's preposterous. There are fevers that are good, if you think about it. Mine happens to be baseball, and I'm missing it terribly. But I'm just glad certain decisions don't rest with certain individuals.
I'm ready for this pandemic to be over. Until then, everyone, please stay safe and healthy.

Hmmm...I thought that we'd be getting 1971 and 1978 soon as they're both about due, but not at the same time. We probably won't get another 1978 standalone until at least the second half of May, given the "too close together" factor and the fact that a mid-May 1978 show was guest hosted. 5/27/78 hasn't been aired since 2011 and would be a good choice then. I'd be happy if they played 5/27/78 again this year--it's been too long since that show got a spin.

Optional extras from the previous airing of 4/17/71 (April 16-17, 2011): Hour 1: "Me And You And A Dog Named Boo" - Lobo (#47) Hour 2: "Want Ads" - Honey Cone (#73) Hour 3: "Harper Valley P.T.A." - Jeannie C. Riley (original AT40 extra) FYI--the other four original extras were left in the show as-is. And for 4/22/78, which last aired on April 21-22, 2018 (extras for the '15 and '18 airings were the same btw): Hour #1: "Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad" - Meat Loaf (#46) Hour #2: "Take A Chance On Me" - ABBA (#69; highest debut) Hour #3: "Tumbling Dice" - Linda Ronstadt (#70)

Very sad to hear of the death of Bill withers today ,hope we can have a AT40 extra tribute to the great artist Next time Premiere slates an AT40: The 70's 1971 or 1972 or 1978 show (or 1981 for AT40: The 80's). For 1971, I'll go with: "Ain't No Sunshine" "Want Ads" "Harper Valley P.T.A." For 1978, I'll go with: "Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad" "Take A Chance On Me" "Lovely Day"

Listening to KLFM right now. Have to say that one of their local ads, the one for the nursery that has copy including "..in these trying times..." and "...come see us while you still can..." made me immediately think of the apocalyptic 1959 film/1957 novel "On the Beach". Which, incidentally, was set in and around Melbourne, Victoria...Anyone else understand this reference or m I too old? Just kind of eerie, if you know the film and/or novel.

Didn't get that reference, as I've never read "On the Beach". I remember some English classes when I was in junior/senior high school reading it, but not mine. Though somebody at KLFM should have taken another look at the chart. "Space Oddity" was played as an "optional extra" at the end of hour 2--shortly after it was heard in the countdown. It was then immediately followed by Premiere's designated extra "My Love".

"Can't Get It Out Of My Head" got the 'double play' treatment the week before on the '75 show. As for "On the Beach", it was one of the few cases where I thought the movie (which stars Gregory Peck, Ava Gardner, and Anthony Perkins) captures the novel it is based on quite well. Surprised I haven't seen it show up on Turner Classic Movies during this stay-at-home time. Pretty depressing movie, though: (spoiler alert) Everyone dies or is about to die at the end.

1971-If you're in quarantine with a small group of people and if you haven't been to the grocery store lately, you might be in trouble next week if your name is Tim. 1978-Forget about the "Fever". It will be even more depressing listening to "Dust In The Wind" by Kansas. At least we'll get to hear "Rocket Ride" again.

Maybe after COVID-19 subsides there may be a remake reboot of the "On The Beach" movie.

I just noticed HOW MANY disco songs are on the charts from 4/14/79... Yes. Right at the peak. I count 18 disco or disco-ish songs. Casey said 15 disco songs. Depending on how one classifies them I got up to 19 disco-type songs, which includes not only pure disco but disco-styled pop, danceable funk, and even go-go--from (where I am) local hero Chuck Brown, whose classic "Bustin' Loose" appears in the optional first hour.
