Just heard a '...great radio station...' shoutout to the station I was hearing this show on when it first aired: KTKT Tucson. My local market's third affiliate, following KHYT (one of the 'original 7') 1970-73, and KIKX 1973'74. After a three-year gap during which I was only able to (barely) hear the show on KBBC-FM Phoenix in 1975-76, KTKT picked it up in the summer of '77.

Was not aware that the late Bill Withers had 'discovered' longtime DC-area R&B/funk band Chuck Brown and the Soul Searchers. How fitting given that Mr. Withers recently left us.

Just realized that White Squirrel played the 4 hour edition....
Did they play the top 3 as well from last week?
I really got to hating that feature as time went on.

Wow, we were on a disco roll from #20 until #12 when Anne Murray crashed the party..... Hey, you've got to have a 'grope and grind' slow dance every so often. Next one will be at #7...

The next possible show that never aired is 5/24/1975. Hearing Casey thanking Glenn Morgan for sitting in for him brought back great memories of Morgan on WXLO mid mornings.

Hmmm...I thought that we'd be getting 1971 and 1978 soon as they're both about due, but not at the same time. We probably won't get another 1978 standalone until at least the second half of May, given the "too close together" factor and the fact that a mid-May 1978 show was guest hosted. 5/27/78 hasn't been aired since 2011 and would be a good choice then.

Love the early shows so looking forward to 4/17/71! Although it's two weeks too early to experience the totally awful 'Battle Hymn Of Lt. Cslley' this year.

Aren't fever related 1970's songs like "Night Fever" and "Boogie Fever" being temporary banned from radio due to this COVID-19 pandemic?
What in the hell are you talking about? This doesn't make any sense what so ever.

Well, for 4/22/1978 you'll hear "Night Fever" at #1 anyway. And when was 4/17/1971 last played on AT40: The 70's? Hope 4/17/1971 uses for an OPTIONAL EXTRA "Ain't No Sunshine" by the late Bill Withers as a tribute since Mr. Withers passed away recently. Also: Is Bill Withers' "Lovely Day" on the 4/22/1978 AT40 chart?

Maybe Bill Withers' "Lovely Day" might be an OPTIONAL EXTRA to pay tribute to Mr. Withers for the 4/22/1978 AT40: The 70's B show. Still hoping the next available AT40: The 70's 1973 A show - 5/5/1973 or 5/12/1973 - uses the late passed away of Coronavirus Manu Dibanjo's "Soul Makossa" as on OPTIONAL EXTRA.
