The show is going on hiatus... I have accepted a job at a radio station
(99.3 FM WLLW in Geneva NY... Link to listen online: fingerlakesdailynews.com/pages/index.cfm?id=3)
They want me to produce a classic rock countdown and with everything else in my life, I cannot do both countdown shows. However, if you think you know of radio stations who'd be interested in syndicating my 60's countdown show, I may be able to quit my main job if I can get enough interest and buyers.
The new show is in preliminary production and more news on that will follow. However, it will only be on WLLW. Possibly after a while I might post links here because I'll be recording it in my studio and they'll download the show like stations do with Casey.
Once its going to debut, I will open a message board thread and provide a link to listen online. Early things confirmed are that it will be a 4 hour top 30 of classic rock charts for years between 1970 and 1989. Loads of bonuses and features will also be included. Its looking like Sunday evenings for the show air time. Also, I am going to possibly have specials that are classic rock based on there as well!
Plus, I will have a Sunday afternoon air shift (Looking like 1-6 or 2-6 EST) Possibly other times, but its my part time job.
Though I am sad to stop the 60's countdown show, I am excited for this new show.
We will still have Retro Countdown specials occasionally like we had/have on July 4th & Labor Day. (Coming soon, my Top 100 Elvis Special with special help from board member: tarobe!)
Also, due to not knowing when I'll be starting the new show, I decided that we'll post what has been recorded (Week of 8-22-11 and 8-29-11) and then shelf the show, hopefully not perminently. Keep your eye out for threads though, there will be occasional surprises.
Also, yes, I will still try to do at least ONE year end countdown for a year in the 60's. Possibly two.
Thank you for your continued support of my shows. I sent a demo to several people for feedback, if anyone else wants to demo the show and give me feedback, I'll be happy to include you in the test process for this new show. Just send me a PM.
