The sad thing about is not too many people tracked that segement down.
R&D were the Westwood One version of the ever famous Long Distance Dedications which ABC Radio had the rights to for some time until Casey and Don Bustany got the rights to AT40 back.
I hope that someone can gives us a complete list of teh R&D right untill the end of the show.
I lot of people still assocated Casey's Top 40 with AT40 during the years Casey Kasem was at WW1.
I could tell the difference but other did not or really cared about it.

Here's something I always wondered about the Requests & Dedications. Did Casey air any on his first Westwood One show, and if so where did it come from? It seems highly unlikely that anyone was writing to him during the 5 months that he was off the air, and there's no way he would have been able to use leftover letters from AT40. Anybody know?

Yes, he did read a few R&D's on his first show. The only logical explanation I can think of is that the staff at AT40 gave Casey a few LDDs that came to them, enough so he'd have dedications to read until they started writing to Casey's Top 40. The first R&D was "One Moment In Time" by Whitney Houston. Either that, or Westwood One wrote several fake Request & Dedications for Casey to read until people started writing in.
