Can some one supply me a date from an 80s show where Casey recapped songs featuring saxophones that had hit the top 40, e.g. Baker Street. I want to use this information to compile a "playlist" for my son who has recently taken up the saxophone.

I'm not 100% certain, but I think the show from 10/30/82 had something about songs with saxaphones before Glenn Frey's "The One You Love" which was at #16 that week.

I used to call this song "The Dog Food Song". A few years earlier, there was a dog food commercial that used a sax music bed that sounded almost exactly like the sax tune of the Glenn Frey song.

I checked the 10-30-82 program for the saxophone story and it's not before #16. Prior to playing Glenn Frey that week, Casey mentioned a few AT40 stations. If Doug or someone else can identify another program date, I'll check it out for Tom.

I don't recall the exact air date, but Casey also spotlighted songs featuring saxophone as his AT10 spotlight sometime in either October or November of last year.

Glad you fond it Tom. I remembered hearing it, and I thought it may have been a show that XM did recently, but I guess I was wrong.

Thanks for posting the sax songs, Tom. And I'm glad you found it too. But it's too bad Casey didn't play Yakety Sax (after Yakety Yak) by Boots Randolph. Many know that song as the closing music from Benny Hill's TV show. Love that British comedy! ;D

I agree Pete. That was definitely one Casey missed.

Hi.Good topic. I`ve been thinking in saxophones in the last months and how has desapeared in pop music from last 10 or 15 years. Many, many songs from the 80 have sax on his chorus like HEAT IS ON from Glen Frey or Wham`s CARELESS WHISPERS. And now? Where`s the saxophones in pop music?? Musicians like Andy Hamilton, Clarence Clemons o the Brecker Brothers, for mention only a few gives a brilliant part for the 80`s music
sorry for my english, I`ll hope you understand thanks
