According to Wikipedia and from his personal website,Dan Peek one of the members of the group America passed away on July 24th at the age of 60. No cause of death has been released. Sadly another voice of our past is now silenced, rest in peace Dan.

A fine musician. He actually had one solo single called All Things Are Possible which I am familiar with as I was Music Director in college radio at the time of that song in 1979. RIP Dan.

It was interesting that on Saturday when Amy Winehouse died, I started thinking about other Best New Artist winners who had died. The next day, we lost another one.

America was one of my favorite groups during the 70's-It's sad to hear about the passing of founding member Dan Peek.

This is news to me. Didn't see anything about Dan's passing in my local paper or reading Billboard.com today.
Loved the group 'America'. One of my early favorite songs on American Top 40 was "A Horse With No Name".
