Casey's Top 40 once produced a special countdown called "Casey's Top 40 Summer Hits of The 80's" (July 7, 1990). This ranking was originally compiled by the Casey's team based on the Radio & Records Top 40 CHR Airplay charts. www.oldradioshows.com/ct40/070790sct40.html

I really enjoy listening to it, though I certainly don't know why a few big hits were slighted (the most obvious being "It's Still Rock & Roll To Me" by Billy Joel and "The One That You Love" by Air Supply, which spent four and three weeks on top, respectively). Yeah, they were from the early 80s, but so what? 80s are 80s, early or not. This show was discussed at great length in this topic: at40fg.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=ww1&action=display&thread=9
