"...and me, I'm flyin' in my taxi, takin' tips and gettin' stoned.
I go flyin' soooo high, when I'm stoned..."
An awesome song from a great and irreplaceable talent. His death was truly a sad event.

And one of the top 5 most played songs on my iPod is not 'Cat's In The Cradle', but one of Harry's minor Top 40 songs....W*O*L*D*. Peaked at #36 in March, 1974.

My favorite of his tunes is Taxi and Sequel. I always had a dislike for Cats In The Cradle. Too overplayed.
Him and Jim Croce were 2 of the greatest singer/songwriters of all time!
Wasn't he on the way to a concert? Thats what I had always thought I heard.

Just took a look. According to his Wikipedia entry, he was on the way to give a free concert to be held later that day.

Hi. I am a board member with the Harry Chapin Foundation and we recently started a new online station at www.harrychapinradio.com. It's free, 24/7, and features Harry's music, interviews with family and friends, bandmates, etc. The station is free and designed to motivate Harry's fans to make a difference, as he did. Would love to get a copy of the Robert W. Morgan interview of Harry and any others that might be out there to share with our listeners. Thanks for your consideration. Sincerely, Mike Grayeb
