That would be great if PLJ picked up this new show. Seacrest may be in trouble if it happens. I don't remember any countdown shows airing on PLJ since Scott Shannon took over as PD and arrival at PLJ.

I happen to remember that the Shadoe Stevens era of "AT40" had aired during Shannon's tenure at PLJ which has been twenty years.

Has it been 20 years since Scott took over? Time flies. Seems like he just took over for Larry Burger, a guy Scott admired during his Z100 days vs wimp radio. LOL.

I personally hated how WPLJ treated listeners to AT40 in the 1990s! It was such an anti hip-hop station, it made my stomach turn...it never deserved the show! They were banning songs they should have been banning. It was the equivalent of barring all Motown recordings from top 40 radio in the early 1970s! I have almost no respect for WPLJ!

Kasem's Kountdown has aired their first show. Until recently, you could hear the whole first show on their website. Now, you only hear a quick 13 minute condensed version of the 3 hour show.
Does anyboy know if any stations have started airing Kasem's Kountdown, especially streaming stations? Thanks!

On Mike Facebook page, somebody asked where the countdown show can be heard. Mike replied "I will let you know as soon as it hits the airwaves." Sounds to me that either the show has not launched yet, or there are no stations airing it.

You'd think he'd be the one to get the stations easily. Many people dislike Seacrest, including the younger people who would listen to that stuff in the top 40 these days...

But when your distribution company's parent corporation owns what seems like nearly every radio station in every city, listener tastes don't matter. He gets shoved down your throat 6 days a week no matter what. It sells to advertisers which is all they care about.

I have heard that the show won’t debut until they can get on in a big market, so until then, it’s probably on hold.

Mike is guest hosting for Lara Scott on the "World Chart Show" this weekend. I believe the last time he was there was when she was on maternity leave maybe a year ago.

I think Lara was gone last year from the 3rd week of November until the 3rd week of December. Then she was back for the year-end special. If anybody is interested, the World Chart Show will be on again on Sunday afternoon 4pm EST/1pmPST on FMMundo. According to the nenad website, it has 2 more airings though I am not sure if the listing is accurate. radio.nenad.net/?hz=0.00&submitted=true&y=WCS
