Yesterday,7/3/61,marked the 50th anniversary of Dan Ingram's arrival at Musicradio 77 WABC in NYC-Ingram had previously worked at WIL-AM in St.Louis,MO-Four years later, another well-known WIL personality named Ron Lundy would become a member of the WABC "All Americans". Ingram's initial shift was as a fill-in for Chuck Dunaway-Ingram eventually got his own airshift-He stayed at WABC until May 1982-That's when the station flipped to its current news/talk format-In 1991,Ingram got a weekend show on oldies formatted WCBS-FM-He stayed there until 2003-Ingram is now retired & lives in Florida with his wife Maureen. In my opinion,Dan is one of the best personalities in the history of NYC radio-I know all his fans wish him the best.

I agree. Dan is one of the best. His 2 pm-6 pm slot back in the early-mid '70's was the most listened to in NYC during that time period. Sadly, They don't make jocks like that anymore. I probably speak for mrjukebox that we were very fortunate to hear him and grew up with Dan..... Imagine if there was streaming back then.

Dan was the best, absolutely. Even as I migrated more and more to FM in the late 70's, I would still listen to Dan Ingram from when I got home from school until his sign off at 6 PM.
I went to college in the fall of '78 outside of Providence, so that was about it for hearing Dan on a regular basis. Yes.... if only there was streaming back then.....
