So WRIP has evidently "rippped" the AT40 80s extras from their broadcast. So now here I sit on Sunday afternoon (PDT) scuffling through the Nenad list, trying to find stations where I can grab the extras. Sound quality is secondary at this point. But for the long term, I need to find stations on Sunday afternoon which play the extras. The stream quality of WMXY (Jack FM) sounds really good. Do they play the extras?
So far I was able to grab Extra #3 from KEDG and about to grab #4 from there as well. Then it appears KOOI gets to the extras a little later in the hourly cycle so I was able to grab #1 from them.
I hate scrounging for AT40. I like having a plan. Right now it's 70s via WOGL + WFMX for extras, 80s via WRIP and now I need to find the extras. Ugh.
BTW I think using a thread like this for station updates is not the way to go. We need a free blog or something where we can post some type of table which can be updated. That way users can go to one page to find out which stations are playing what, when, and extras.
Thanks!

I think the regular station thread works just fine. I assume you're looking for a station that plays all of them? The regular thread indicates which stations do and do not play them, as well as those that don't always play all four. To answer your question though, WMXY does play them, as does WQSR which runs at the very same time. WQSR may be prone to stream dropping, but for sound quality, they are better than WMXY - plus, WMXY snips a couple seconds off the show each time they come back from commercial. Of course, having said that, WMXY does have that Monday night option if needed...

Thx, CRZ108. If every post on the thread listed all stations and which stations play extras, as well as some type of sound quality rating, that would be fine. But how is anyone supposed to keep track of which stations play AT40 via a multi-page thread which will just keep getting bigger, many of the posts just being comments? Just sayin'.
Anyway thanks for the info. I used to record from these stations, but sometimes they wouldn't play the show or would drop the stream and by then it was too late - Sunday night. I found WRIP and have been very happy with the stream quality and the fact that they play all the extras - at least they did until this week. Maybe this was a one-time thing. I'm gonna e-mail the station 'cause I really like their stream quality. They took some steps a couple of years ago to improve it and I hear the difference. But it's good knowing these other options exist.
The playing or not playing of optional extras seems to be the ever moving target for folks looking to capture AT40 shows via the internet. Ugh.

The first post in the entire thread has the stations list, so all you need to do is go to the beginning of the thread. pizzzza's good about keeping the list updated.

Oh, cool. Thanks man! Okay I looked at the two threads. You are indeed right, very well put together list with optional extras in green. I didn't realize the OP was sort of the moderator of that list and updates it every week (I had seen these updates in the title but didn't realize). Anyway this is a GREAT resource for those of us who constantly fight the battle of finding good streams with optional extras.
Sort of wish I had put more research in to this. If JACK and the other 5PM PDT shows are reliable, I could have been recording 70s shows live from KKLZ with a much better sound quality than off the internet. But WRIP broadcasts at the same time and I hate to risk depending on JACK. I do remember their being stream dropouts. We'll see. For this week all I need is the optional extras.

I know Sunday's 8AM WYXB Indianapolis plays the extras. That's where I've been recording from with my Radio Shark since it started playing here again. I'm not sure how good their stream is, but when I have played their stream, it has been good.

I checked yesterday, while I could hear the show on the radio, the stream was nothing but commercials.

Rochester NY's Fickle plays all the extras. Sundays at 6am. Great stream as well.
I'd more like an addition to the 2 Stations lists that say if they play alot or a small amount of commercials. Sometimes editing them out is tedious. and I wish they would STOP the psychic commercials! AARGH!

A friend (who is also on this board) and I use an easy .xl file he put together that is a chronoligical list of feeds you can/want to record from. It is very easy to use, perhaps we could email it to anyone that wants it. I have 70s, 80s, and XM condensed to one sheet.
The sheet includes notes on pros/cons of signals/edits/dropouts and overall reliablilty.
