In checking the deaths on Wikipedia recently,I saw that on March 4th Johnny Preston,who had the number one song "Running Bear" has passed away. There is more if you click onto his name.

Interesting piece of trivia about "Running Bear":The Indian noises on the song were provided by J.P. Richardson aka:The Big Bopper-Today,you couldn't get away with something like that-It would be deemed as politically incorrect.

The song must have been recorded about a year before it was released as the Big Bopper was in the plane crash that claimed the life of Buddy Holly. The crash was dubbed 'the day the music died' by Don McLean in "American Pie". All of this occured in 1959.
