I came across a copy of this cassette, "Party Hits from Casey's Top 40" today. Does anybody know the history of this product? Songs on the tape include: "Manic Monday", "Pump Up the Jam", "Kokomo", "Dangerous", and others.
It says (c) 1990 CEMA Special Markets

I purchased that copy of the Party Hits cassette. Outside of a small "Casey's Top 40" logo, the tape is just like any other compilation of hits out there.... but of course that "Casey's Top 40" logo made me have to have it!!

In the early 90's, i remember my mother opened and played this cassette tape after we left a local "Loaf N' Jug." I was like 5 or 6 years old then. It made it's way into my collection almost immediately, and is still one of my most-prized possessions. The only fuzzy detail is whether this was during a routine shopping trip or not. If so, it's possible she may have purchased it at the K-Mart shortly before. We lived in a very rural area of Northern New Mexico then. ;D ~MattyG =D db.tt/LjcTms9S

Neither was "Seasons Change", "Manic Monday", nor some others, as CT40 didn't exist when they were hits. "Pump Up The Jam" and "Dangerous" were played on CT40, though.

I loved the version of Dangerous CT40 played. I think the other 2 countdown shows played that version too. I assume you are referring to Roxettes song anyway. I've never found that version on iTunes or anything.

I've never found that version on iTunes or anything. Sounds like "Dangerous" was greatly played back in 1990, but 22 years later, it seems to be a forgotten song for the most part. Kind of surprising that "The Look" gets played a lot more than do other songs by Roxette. "Joyride" may be a close second to "The Look" in terms of today's airplay of retro songs.
