This just blew my mind when I heard it this past weekend on the show Blues Before Sunrise, hosted by Steve Cushing.
The artist is King Perry. The song is the Hoagy Carmichael standard "Stardust" which was one of the most popular tunes of the swing era.
What struck me is how much his singing sounded like modern-day rap. In particular, it reminded me somewhat of Eminem's "Lose Yourself" in it's phrasing.
