In late 1990 and early 1991 there was a version of "Show Me The Way" by Styx that included various sound bites relating to Operation Desert Shield and the impending war with Iraq. I believe it was aired a couple of times on Casey's Top 40. The mix was made by somebody in radio; possibly Scott Shannon, who was working for Westwood One at the time

When Casey introed the song, did he give any info on where it originated?

I don't know about CT40, but on AT40 on the 2/16/91 show, there was an interview clip where the DJ who created it. Later weeks had interviews with Dennis DeYoung about what he thought about it.
