I've been listening to every AT20 that aired in the 2nd week of December (I have my reasons ), and I've noticed that they played a lot of the same extras on the shows. I've heard "Lullabye" by Shawn Mullins, "Secret" by Madonna, "Heaven Is a Place on Earth" by Belinda Carlisle, and others multiple times. I would think that they would have mixed it up a bit each year, but maybe it was just easier to use the same extras. [Note: I don't mean "Optional Extras". I mean those used within the show]

Remember, you are listening to the same week apparently in different years. Other than not airing the same extras done the previous 2-3 weeks I assume, they probably didn't think too deep about what to use.

I still think they could have kept track in a simple spreadsheet so they could add more variety each year. It wouldn't be that hard.

Remember, the Premiere Radio Network producers and writers were responsible for things like "this week the song falls from 19 to 16" on the show script. If they couldn't get this simple thing right, they weren't going to worry about what week extras are played.

Yeah, I would always notice many of the extras would replay on the same weekend or within a week or two each year.
Also, I'd be curious, how many of the second week of December shows, if any, were Ed McMann shows from back during the days when Casey would take one week a month off.

I guess I listened to 2nd or 3rd week in December, because I only chose shows with Casey as the host.

Well, things happen and so do the mistakes, but you should realize that Casey's writers were quite strictly limited by their affiliates playlists, so blame it on the rigidity of playlists rather than on people. They simply couldn't allow to play some great songs even though they might have been playing them few years before on the show.
