While searching to find when the 1980s follow up to Pete's book "American Top 40 With Casey Kasem (The 1970s)" would be available for sale, I found several books by Books LLC including one called "American Top 40; Casey Kasem, American Top 40, American Country Countdown, List of Stations That Air Casey Kasem's American Top 40: the 70's" Has anyone read that book? If so, what kind of information does it include? From first glance, it doesn't appear to be very impressive but any information would be greatly appreciated. Here's the link to that book on Amazon.com: www.amazon.com/American-Country-Countdown-Stations-Kasems/dp/1155156161/ref=sr_1_10?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1285884449&sr=1-10

My guess is -- and this is just a guess -- that the book is a compilation of wikipedia pages. I trust someone will comment if that's not true.
Regarding the 80s book, I'm hopeful that it'll be available by Thanksgiving. Plenty of unknowns about it right now including price. But I can tell you it was developed into a 500-page manuscript. More to follow.

Pete,
Didn't know you were working on the 80's edition of AT 40. This is great news. Throughly enjoy your 70's book. Getting this new book will be as exciting as getting a new book from Record Research. I appreciate the depth of information you put in your books.

My guess is -- and this is just a guess -- that the book is a compilation of wikipedia pages. I trust someone will comment if that's not true. I think that's exactly what it is (note the excerpt in the Product Description is verbatim from the "America's Top 10" wikipedia page). I saw something else like this on Amazon a few months ago for Mystery Science Theater 3000 (my other obsession) that costs $51... for 84 pages of Wikipedia reprints. Looking forward to the '80s edition of your book, Pete!
