I was an avid listener of Casey Kasem's Top 40 from 1978 through the mid 80s when my interest turned to other things. It was because of Casey that I subscribed to Billboard Magazine in the early 80s. I'd love reading more detailed stories about artists and upcoming releases. Also, it was great to have the actual charts right in front of me each week.
I still have every issue, including the special year end editions, in mint condition from I believe 1984 through about 1990. I've often thought of selling them off on Ebay or something, but can't bring myself to part with them. That many magazines takes up a whole lot of space so sooner or later, I'll have to part with them.
Just thought I'd share my CK story from my youth.
Update! I just rummaged around in my collection and found that I actually subscribed to and still have issues into 1995! Ten plus years of Billboard, a big part of my life. Fun reminiscing.
