Yes Pizzzza, it APPEARS WASK still plays AT 40, but just not online. Without living in the Battleground/Lafayette area it truly would be speculative on my part to make that final determination. The website link and other links are broken or no longer in service so there's no way to validate anything that way either. My main
beef is that they are censoring the AT 40 program(or maybe a different program) from streaming during the Saturday morning time block from 6am-9am and therefore
providing the faithful supporters of this forum with nothing but dead air. I just feel it's time to cut the fat.
Just as a side note and on a much more positive note, everything else on this mornings listings (9/28/13) checked out A-OK from 6A-12N and I even handicapped the
the 1P stations as they had sports programming pre-empt this weeks show. And yes , the folks at WFRL Freeport IL, still haven't gotten their streaming link to work. No surprise
there and nothing we already didn't know.

In fact, when I clicked on two of the links, I got: "There is a problem with this website's security certificate." So I think it's safe to drop this station from the list. Thanks for checking on the other stations - it's an ongoing project to keep this list up-to-date!

While I concur with pulling WASK-FM off the list for now, I am writing them an email re the mess on their website re streaming, as this issue sure seems to be something bigger than just blacking out AT40. (All the owner's other FM websites in the Lafayette area use the same player, and those all work fine at least on the websites' own "Listen Now" links.) If I get a reply, I will advise.

Notwithstanding other discussions: The parent company of Smooth 70s is as of 2012 called "Real and Smooth Ltd", reflecting the first names of the stations they own. www.realandsmooth.co.uk/ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Real_and_SmoothMeanwhile, the listings for Smooth 70s need to note the occasional pre-emption of the Saturday re-airing of the previous weekend in favor of a "B" show that may be available from Premiere; they have been very consistent in airing these secondary shows. dL Thanks for that information Dale - I'll make a notation in the station's listing.

Global radio are still trying to buy the Real FM and Smooth FM stations from GMG Radio-This has been going on for over a year now. The matter was referred to the UK competition commission who published a list of stations in various markets that Global would need to sell for the deal to be approved. Global however don't believe they should have to sell anything anywhere, so it's all going to a tribunal in October. Whatever happens the future of Smooth 70s is still not sure, as it will be sold to Global w/ the Smooth FM stations if they win, but Global are not known for innovative exciting radio or for DAB only radio stations. Smooth 70s is not on FM in the UK and is only available on a digital radio or via the internet, if you didn't know. If Global loose and the Smooth FM stations get sold to other operators who knows what will happen to Smooth 70s. The Smooth FM stations could to go to various operators in different markets who are likely to rebrand some of them, or one operator may buy the lot but they could face their own problems w/ the regulators if they own numbers of other stations.

Thanks for your help with this particular station. I got two replies from two different people. One said that there was an issue with the stream that was resolved; the other said they found no issue. So I'm setting it to record at 6 am on dar.fm on Saturday and let's see what we get. Thanks for all your hard work.

I will sorely miss Smooth 70s. It was my main "go-to" source for AT 40 The 70s. Though some disagree, I always found their stream quality and stability outstanding. And I was impressed by their music selection--they played songs not heard on U.S. radio for over 30 years. So long, Smooth 70s... It was great while it lasted....

With the removal of Smooth '70s from the AT40 distribution, can anybody provide a short list of affiliates that air all four hours of "AT40: The '70s" when 1978 and 1979 air (and air all four optional extras)?
Also with Christmas music around the corner, WODC is not an option.
NOTE: I won't say what dates but according to the leaked list, there is one more 1978 show and one more 1979 show planned for this year.

Thanks for that information Dale - I'll make a notation in the station's listing. They've said that the closedown will occur early in the morning Sunday... and haven't updated their Casey page... leading me to think it'll occur before the listed time for AT40. dL
