In case you missed it on the XM thread.
I know there's always been discussion of no 1979 countdowns by Premiere in the 70s thread, so I just wanted to pass this along.
I realize it's not premiere (with the optional extras and unedited program), but at least it's a 1979 AT 40 countdown.

Odd fact: In the last 79 countdown SXM played (5/19/79), the show started with the recap of the previous week's top 3. At #3 was Donna Summer's Hot Stuff. 2 months later (7/14/79), the show starts again with Hot Stuff...lol. What a super monster hit it was, even though it only spent 3 weeks at #1. I always thought it was more popular than Bad Girls, which spent 5 weeks at the top.

larry harris's book about casablanca records "and party every day" implies that there was some bias and coersion by casablanca on the billboard charts during that era. I'm not surprised if indeed this was the case, given the power in sales and radio airplay having a # 1 record on BB would have.
