I've been reading on here that some years AT40 produced both a special and a regular countdown for July 4th weekend. In some cases, the regular countdown was guest-hosted while the special was hosted by Casey.
My question is, in these instances, did Casey begin the next week's show by thanking the guest host? And if so, wouldn't that have been confusing for listeners who only heard the special?

I checked the dates using the special listing on Wiki and the calendar on the Charis site...
Double July 4 shows only occurred for 1986-88, and only in '88 did Casey host one show and not the other.
The following week, 7-9-88, was aired last year...does anyone know if he thanked a guest host? (I wasn't able to listen)

On the 8/17/1985 show (which Premiere ran last year), I don't recall Casey thanking Charlie Van Dyke who had subbed the previous week.
