First off, let me just say that I'm a senior member now! I am only about 1,750 posts away from catching Mrjukebox! Anyway, in doing research for predicting the optional extras for last week's AT40: The '70s show, I saw that "Love Will Keep Us Together" started at #108 & ended up at #1. Here is my two part question for y'all. Were there any other songs that started on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart that went all the way to #1 & if not, were there any songs on that same chart to go into the top ten?

I haven't researched every single Bubbling Under Chart, but this might be the record. Take a look at the June 14th, 1969 HOT 100 chart. Down in the right hand corner of the chart, where the Bubbling Under Chart is printed, note the song at #135. "In The Year 2525" - Zager & Evans. Four weeks later, the song hit #1 (on July 12, 1969). Quite the climb.

Joel Whitburn has just released the latest edition of his "Top Pop Singles 1955-2008"-It's actually two books in one as it includes every song that bubbled under the Billboard "Hot 100"-This is a must for chart buffs everywhere.
