Veteran Los Angeles radio personality Charlie Tuna is the new imaging voice on WDRC-FM in Hartford,CT-What that means is that you hear his voice announcing the names of the on-air staff as well as station promos. Charlie also hosts a nationally syndicated show which features all the big hits of the 70's-DRC-FM is one of the affiliates-If you remember Casey Kasem's AT40 spinoff,"America's Top 10",which aired on TV throughout the 80's & early 90's,Charlie was the announcer on that show. In the early to mid 90's,Charlie along with "Machine Gun" Kelly, hosted a syndicated series called "Your Good Time Oldies Magazine"-These days,Charlie is on KRTH (K-Earth) Radio in Los Angeles, which has an oldies/greatest hits format-If I'm not mistaken,Charlie once filled in for Casey on both "AT10" & "AT20".

Pretty sure Rick Dees was the one who replaced Charlie Tuna as the morning DJ at KIIS in Los Angeles sometime in the early 80's.

For all you game show fans like myself out there, you might remember Charlie Tuna as the announcer of "Scrabble" from 1985-1990. Charlie was also a sub announcer on "The $100,000 Pyramid".

I recently watched an episode of "Pyramid" on GSN & I heard Charlie Tuna introduce Dick Clark.

My initiation to Charlie Tuna came via the "American Forces Network" when I was a teenager living in Germany. He recorded a one hour syndicated show for many years. I probably have close to 200 of those now on CD-R spanning the years 1974-1991. Without a doubt he is in a class all by himself!
