On the app: October 31, 1987 November 7, 1992 November 3, 2007 October 31, 1987 - Guessing the sure shot for that Halloween date show is "Skeletons" by Stevie Wonder. It's Whitney Houston's "So Emotional".

Just curious -- how many stations are playing the retro-Dees shows, and are they being distributed by a network, like Premiere with AT40? I can't see why they keep airing the same shows year after year unless the stations only have a limited collection.

While I haven't been following the Dees series as much in recent years, I have noticed a lot of repeats, and this was also happening in the early 2010s, when I was listening more regularly, before I discovered the classic AT40 rebroadcasts. I'm not sure if Dees himself has missing shows from his years of countdown shows (save pre-1985, since those are not being broadcast due to Cash Box chart source). And I've always preferred Casey (and Bob Kingsley on the country side) to anyone else, because of the overall content (and no skipped songs!). And the repeats are a lot less, and, all the Casey-hosted shows are "available". But I enjoy a Dees show, especially from the 80s and 90s, once in a while.

There aren't very many radio stations still playing the Rick Dees shows on terrestrial radio anymore. My guesses off the top of my head is there are maybe a little over 20 stations doing the 80s series every week, maybe about 10 or so doing the 90s, and maybe only 2 or 3 doing the D2K 2000s. In early 2018 these shows were being distributed by "Dees Entertainment" of Burbank, CA. I am unaware of any changes since then, but who knows. I just bumped to the top of this Rick Dees thread two spreadsheets I did almost 10 years ago now, one for the 1985 - 1993 shows and one for 1994 - 1999. As you can tell by skimming through these 2 listings, Rick does have about maybe 60% of all his shows in this time period, but his collection is far from complete. Imagine if AT40 was missing 40% of their shows. You get a lot better selection by listening to the app instead of the radio stations. I had kept these 2 listings current until about 6 months ago or so. I no longer am making weekly updates to these listings. I am keeping the records in my computer but am no longer updating the listings in the AT40 system.
